My husband called Citi tonight so I didn't get this information first hand... I noticed on my credit report that it was reporting as a charge off so I thought I had better give them another call to negotiate. The lady that my husband spoke to told him that the account had been sent to an outside attorney/agency (he couldn't understand her broken english) and she could not give him any information on the account. She gave him the number 888-891-2873 to call back after November 10, 2009 to get the status of the account...
What? Has anyone ever heard of this? I am fairly frustrated tonight with Citi. I have been trying to call and got Canada instead of the US, I got disconnected, I got hung up on, and I was on hold for over 20 minutes. When my husband tried, he got right through and now I don't understand what has happened. Who can I talk to at Citi to get an answer? |

I had a what sounds like the same thing happen to me. I called Citibank, and the lady I spoke to a few days earlier said she could no longer view my file because it was charged off and had been sent to the litigation management unit. Evidently their litigation management is NCO. They called telling me it had been turned over to them to review and try and settle or they would send it back to Citibank with recommendations based on their correspondence with me. I am still trying to negotiate with them using any stalling technique I can think of. Seems to me that it is a negotiating ploy on the part if Citibank. Good Luck!

So, do I try to negotiate with this new company? If I negotiate with them (American Consumer Crediting) are they going to "square up" with Citi or take my money and run? I don't want to pay the wrong guy but want to get this debt taken care of once and for all. Any advice?
